Proposed amendments to the Robertson County Players Constitution:
ARTICLE 5 AMENDMENTS
Current Wording:
Article 5 - Membership and Dues
Section A
Anyone in the community may become a member upon payment of annual dues.
Section B
Payment of annual dues entitles members to participation in all activities of the organization and to attendance at one (1) performance of each production.
Section C
Amount of dues for members shall be established by the Board of Directors.
Section D
In addition to regular membership, the Board may establish special categories such as sponsor, pateron, etc. and set the annual dues and privileges of those categories.

A member is defined as someone who has been involved in a RCP production, an active season ticket holder, or an active sponsor

NEW Section B
“No minor participating in any RCP function shall ever be alone with only one adult during any RCP activities unless that adult is their parent or legal guardian, or said parent or legal guardian has given express written permission to the Board of Directors.”
ARTICLE 6 AMENDMENTS
Current Wording:
Article 6 - Board of Directors
Section B
Not later than September 1 of each year, the President shall appoint a nominating committee of three (3) directors whose duty shall be to draw up a slate of three consenting nominees. These nominees shall be proposed to the membership at its Annual Membership Meeting in December for election to the Board of Directors for three year terms each. [...]
Section D
The Board of Directors shall have full power and authority over the affairs of the corporation with the exception of obligating the organization for any financial indebtedness outside the ongoing costs of productions. All actions of the Board shall be subject to the instruction of the membership.

Section B
Amend to take out “Not later than September 1 of each year”
Section D
Reword to “The Board of Directors shall have full power and authority over the affairs of the corporation, including decisions regarding financial obligations, provided that any indebtedness incurred outside the ordinary course of production costs is subject to membership approval.”
Proposed addition of Section F
“Nominated members must fulfill the following qualifications:
-Have been involved in an RCP production in some capacity in the last 24 months
-Be 18 years of age or older
-Not be married to, immediately related to, or in a long term relationship with a current Board of Directors member”
Proposed addition of Section G
“Board of Directors members may serve a second three-year term if nominated and voted on by the membership.
Any Board of Directors member who has served any portion of a vacated Board member’s seat must count that as a full three-year term.
Members who have served two consecutive terms on the Board of Directors must take at least one year off before being eligible to be on the Board again.”
***If this is adopted, By-Law Article 2, Sections B and C can be stricken as redundant**
ARTICLE 7 AMENDMENTS
Current Wording:
Article 7 - Membership Meetings
Section B
Notification of the dates of the annual meeting as well as known items for the agenda shall be given to the membership at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting by personal notice and/or public media. Emergency items may be added only by majority consent of the Board of Directors and personal notification of the membership.
Section D
Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern the conduct of all business except where specified otherwise in the Constitution.
Proposed Wording:

Section B
Notification of the dates of the annual meeting as well as known items for the agenda shall be given to the membership at least 14 days prior to the meeting by mail, email, and/or social media.
Section D
Change wording to: “The basics of Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern the conduct of…”
